The Executive Team

Marinus Smits

Marinus is the Founder and Managing Director of the Ceres Group. Marinus brings over 30 years of experience in managing businesses to the Group, specialising in developing systems and structures, and ensuring quality and high service standards.

Marinus came to Dubai in 2008, and founded the Ceres Group after identifying a lack of high quality and service standards in the landscaping business. Marinus continues to develop the group through investments in training, employee welfare & safety, and new environmentally friendly techniques.

Chris Walton

Chris joined the Ceres Group at the end of 2009 in the role of Managing Director, Ceres Waterworld, bringing over 35 years of experience in the construction industry. Chris has lived in the region for 25 years, working in both building and civil construction throughout all disciplines, particularly in the development of water structures.

Chris oversees the operational aspect of the Ceres Group, and ensures consistent service and quality standards are being delivered from concept through to completion.
